This month's show has a strong power pop influence. The singer songwriters are from 4 different power pop bands showcasing their acoustic side. Check it out! Come join us for an evening of ORIGINAL acoustic music from some of Southern California's most talented singer songwriters.

- JOEY HARRIS: Harris began his music career in the mid seventies playing lead guitar for proto-Americana singer-songwriter John Stewart (The Kingston Trio). Harris headed a band called The Fingers from 1979 to 1981. In 1983, MCA records released Joey Harris and the Speedsters which showcased Harris' skill as songwriter, vocalist and guitar virtuoso. In 1985, he joined the Beat Farmers. With the Beat Farmers, he toured the world, and wrote, sang, and played on five Beat Farmer albums sharing lead vocals with Jerry Raney and Country Dick. He also shared lead guitar duties with Raney helping to make the Beat Farmers one of the most exciting touring bands of the time. The Beat Farmers appeared on Late Night with David Letterman featuring Harris singing his song "Hideaway". Currently Harris performs with his band The Mentals. On occasion, he performs solo acoustic - and this is one of those occasions!

- REX BROOME & CHRISTINA BULBENKO: They recently returned from a month long tour of Ireland, Scotland and England. The highlight of the tour was performing at the Cavern Club in Liverpool as part of the prestigious International Pop Overthrow Festival. The unique harmonies of Broome and keyboardist Bulbenko form the thread holding the songs together within the Armoires sophisticated but exuberant variation on the power pop blueprint, rooted in a blend of West Coast and English psychedelia, but utterly timeless. “The songs are stories,” says guitarist Rex Broome of the Burbank, CA power pop band. “Whether they’re dreamlike or straightforward, they always revolve around some kind of narrative, and above all, characters. The way Christina and I sing together allows us to bring those characters to life." The July show will be a rare opportunity to hear the acoustic version of their songs.

- SCOTT SAMUELS When you contrast the differences between the sounds achievable by Scott, you can really hear an artist who has taken the time to embrace his craft. Perhaps best known for the energetic recordings and live appearances in the San Diego-based power pop outfit Roxy Monoxide, guitarist Scott Samuels has opted for the singer-songwriter modus operandi for this performance.

- STEVE ROSENBAUM has always been a songwriter first and foremost. When not performing with his full band, he is toting his acoustic guitar to smaller venues to find the quieter and more personal moments in his songs. His subject matter runs the gamut from elevating the mundane elements of the everyday experience to romantic heights.

Now in our 9th year! You don't want to miss this evening in our monthly series of original music. Presented in a writers round, this is a creative and exciting showcase. This opportunity to hear ORIGINAL music at a venue with amazing acoustics, should not be missed.

San Diego has a lot of great music shows. We hope you choose us - you won't be disappointed! We look forward to seeing you at our show.
Oh, and tell your friends - they'll be glad you did.
